Altered Slide Mounts & Pretty Tags

They are the things I've been working on this week and are listed on Ebay tonight.

So much has been happening in the past few days. College on Thursday night was Textiles again and tonight should have been my final Textiles class but I skipped it because the travelling (2 buses & 2 trains & not getting home until after 10pm) is just tiring me out too much.

On Saturday I went to the Hobbycraft Expo at Birmingham NEC and spent too much! I got very excited by a new product "Decopatch" and spent any spare minutes over the weekend cutting up small pieces of brightly coloured paper and sticking them to objects (heart box, mini milk churn, polystyrene mini house, mirror frame & stand!).

Here is some of what I bought at the NEC!

Another week flown by?!

Well so much for updating every couple of days!

Since I last updated I had my printmaking with life drawing class (very very messy Monday night!), textiles (Thursday night, mainly talking to my tutor about my plans for final piece - she said she was happy that I knew what I was doing?!?!), Saturday during the day I went to the Great Northern Papercrafts Show in Harrogate with my Mum and friend Dee, it was great to see some new bits but surprising to see the hugely inflated prices for altered art materials!, Saturday evening I went to my friend's house-warming party and was at least part to blame for his hallway pictured here. My 7 year old son did a lot of the black & splatter work. I did some tiny spiral & flower details at the top right of the picture - the flower was quite nice - I used metallic nail varnish!

Tonight I should have been at college for another printmaking with life drawing class but I really wanted to get more altered art materials listed in my Ebay Shop so that's what I'm doing!

Gothic Nightmares

Trying to catch up with everything after an exciting weekend down in London visiting friends. Yesterday I went off to Tate Britain to see the "Gothic Nightmares" exhibition. It was really enjoyable and I even did some sketches. This was very good for me as I normally hate drawing (I'm more of a mixed media gal) but being in Florence on an art trip last month meant we were drawing every day and this took the fear out of it a bit!

I'm not saying any of my work was super but the little sketches (mainly tiny detail from a bigger painting) and notes might come in useful for some work I'm plaining on a fantasy/gothic horror theme.

In other news, I'm still desperately behind with college work which is frustrating! I have printmaking with life drawing tonight. I'm going to try to make entries in my blog every couple of days now so that people know I'm still alive when I fail to post on any of the lovely groups I belong to online (Altered Books, ACEOs, Fairy Art, and more!).
